THE BIRDS OF THE SAVANNAH-OGEECHEE CANAL NATURE CENTER
Our speaker will be John Parrish, Professor Emeritus of Biology at Georgia Southern and co-author of Birds of Georgia. John is a talented photographer and is also a board member for the Savannah-Ogeechee Canal Society, so we have asked him to combine those two attributes to give us a presentation on the bird species he has found over the years on the Canal property. John will also include some other species that he has found and photographed in the coastal plain zone. We’ll be in for a treat – these are “knock-your-socks-off” photos of many our avian friends, some quite common and some rather rare.
Bring a dish to share for our annual Holiday Potluck Dinner beginning at 6:00 p.m. sharp. Please call Beth Roth 912-658-6136 to coordinate with her what food item you’d like to bring. Items that can be served cold or at room temperature are preferred. There will be bird feeders for sale and annual memberships can be renewed at the meeting, so bring a check or some cash – we cannot take credit cards.
The meeting and the potluck are free and open to the public, with the sole requirement that all participants bring a dish that can be shared with 8 to 10 people.
